π OPAA! Pizza Contest Fun at MCE! π
This past week, our amazing kitchen staff brought some student creativity to life by making the pizza recipes of three talented 2nd-grade students as part of the OPAA! pizza contest!
The entire 2nd grade got to join in with a special taste test, and after lots of thoughtful (and delicious!) samplingβ¦
βοΈ The classic cheese pizza with a cheese-stuffed crust was the clear favorite! βοΈ
A big thank you to our cafeteria team for making this such a memorable experience for our students. What a fun way to celebrate student voice and creativity!

The Montgomery County Board of Education Selects New Superintendent
The Montgomery County Board of Education selected Mr. Dave Samuel as the next
superintendent of the district. He will officially begin his duties July 1, 2026. Mr. Samuel is
currently the superintendent of Northeast Randolph County R-IV Schools in Cairo, MO. He has
25 years of educational experience including 4 years as a superintendent, 11 as a principal and
10 as a teacher.
βMr. Samuelβs experience as superintendent and skill set aligns with the Districtβs mission and
desire to continue the tradition of excellence in Montgomery County,β said Maria Stille, Board of
Education President. βIn addition, we are excited that Mr. Samuel and his family will become a
part of the Montgomery County community.β
Mr. Samuel earned his Bachelorβs Degree from Iowa Wesleyan College, a Masterβs Degree
from the University of Phoenix and a Specialist Degree from William Woods University.
I am honored to be selected as the new superintendent of the Montgomery County School
District,' said Mr. Samuel. βI am grateful to have this opportunity to serve the students and
greater community. Montgomery County has a strong reputation, and I will work collaboratively
with the Board of Education, its employees, students and community to build on this reputation.
My family and I are very excited to move into the community and fully immerse ourselves in the
people of the school district.
