Please take a moment to review this important message from Superintendent Dave Samuel regarding dismissal procedures across Montgomery County R-II.

While the 2:00 p.m. deadline for dismissal changes is not a new practice at MCE, this procedure will now be implemented district-wide to help ensure a safe, consistent dismissal process for every student.

We encourage MCE families to communicate dismissal changes as early in the day as possible. Early communication gives our office staff and teachers the time needed to make sure everyone has accurate information before dismissal begins.

Thank you for partnering with us to keep dismissal safe, smooth, and organized! 💙

Last night, we had the privilege of celebrating Mrs. Tina Harms at the Regional Teacher of the Year Banquet, where she proudly represented Montgomery County R-II as our District Teacher of the Year.

At Montgomery City Elementary, our mission is *Developing Lifelong Learners Through Positive Collaboration*, and Mrs. Harms exemplifies that mission every single day.

Throughout her career, Mrs. Harms has impacted the lives of thousands of students, creating a classroom where children feel valued, challenged, and inspired to grow. Her dedication extends far beyond her students. She has mentored countless teachers, willingly sharing her knowledge, encouragement, and expertise, while building positive, supportive relationships with every member of our staff.

Mrs. Harms leads with kindness, compassion, and an unwavering commitment to excellence. We are incredibly proud to call her a Montgomery City Elementary Wildcat and are honored to have her represent our district.

Congratulations, Mrs. Harms! Thank you for the lasting difference you make in the lives of our students, your colleagues, and our entire school community. 💙🐾

Reminder: Tomorrow, Thursday, May 14th is Field Day! Students should wear clothes and shoes that can get wet. Please send a towel, a change of clothes, and sunscreen from home, as students are not allowed to share sunscreen due to allergies. It is also recommended that students bring a plastic bag for wet clothes. There will also be a bounce house as part of the Field Day rotation, so socks are encouraged. We’re looking forward to a fun day!
