Jonesburg Elementary students participated in emergency drills today. For Bus Safety Week, our bus riders practiced a bus evacuation drill. Students and staff also participated in the Great Shakeout with an earthquake drill.

Youth Basketball forms are due back October 29. If you would like to participate, please send in your form.

Picture retake day is Thursday, October 28th. Students wishing to participate in retakes must return their original packet by Tuesday, October 26th. If your student missed pictures in August, please send a note to remind your student's teacher that they need to get their picture taken. Preschool students that need retakes need to call the office to set up an appointment as the photographer will only be here in the morning.

It is School Bus Safety Week. Thank you to all our bus drivers who make sure we get to and from school every day safely. Thank you!

Jonesburg Elementary will be remembering Veterans Day the week of November 11 on our Facebook page.
We are asking students and staff to submit names of their special veterans to be included on our Wall of Honor. Please fill out the form and return it to school by Wednesday, November 3.
A veteran is a person who is currently or has at any time served in our Armed Services.
You may also submit a photo of your veteran. You may email a digital copy to addavis@mc-students.org or send in a physical photo. If you send a physical photo, please make sure it is labeled with a student name as well so we may return it.
IF you submitted a veteran last year, you do not need to resubmit, they will remain on the wall.

Wednesday, October 20 is Change the World Day. This month donate your change to Montgomery County Cares and wear your clothes inside out (or a hat).

Fall Harvest Parties will be held from 2:30-3:30 on Friday, October 22nd.
Unfortunately, at this time outside guests will not be allowed to attend Harvest Parties this year. Teachers may be asking for help from parents with snacks, crafts and activities for the Harvest Party.
Students will be allowed to dress as their favorite book character, wear a fall shirt or come as themselves. We ask that the costumes are school dress code appropriate and that there are No Mask, No Weapons (including swords & sabers), No Gore, and No Blood. Students will not be able to change during the day. If they are dressing up, please make sure it is something they can be comfortable in for the entire day and that it is not a distraction to learning. (Don't forget that it is PE specials for most of our classes.)
