JBE Field Day: We are closely monitoring the weather for field day. Regardless of the weather, field day will happen on Friday, May 8th, 2026. We plan to be outside as long as it isn’t storming. If it is just scattered showers, we may still go out. We do have an indoor plan if necessary. Field day will start at 12:40PM (on the basketball court in the intermediate playground) and end at 3:00PM. Parents are welcome to join us as spectators for field day. Please check in at the office before coming to the field.

We have updated our procedure for dismissal on field day (if we are outside).
--Adults planning to take children at the end of the day must get a wristband from the office.
--Blue wristbands mean that you plan to take your student, wet and messy, from the gym at the end of the day. You will be expected to check out through the front door after you get your student(s) and their belongings. We will cut your wristband off instead of collecting an exit ticket.
--Green wristbands mean that you want to take your student dry at the end of the day. Adults with green wristbands will be asked to wait in the lobby. When your student is changed and has their things, they will come to the front door and we will connect them to you.
--All students will remain in the gym until dismissal.

**IF field day is moved inside, you will still get a wristband if you plan to take your student at the end. Students will return to their classroom and IF you have a wristband on, you can take them from there and bring them to the front door to exit with you. Staff WILL NOT let you take a student if you do not have a wristband.

Your child will be messy, dirty, and wet by the end of the Field Day. Students can bring the below items to make sure their day is a success. Water Bottle— Students do have some time for drinks and restrooms, but a water bottle can be convenient, please make sure you put your child’s name on his or her water bottle. Hat—Not necessary, but they are allowed. They must be worn appropriately. Sunglasses—Not necessary, but they are allowed. They must be worn appropriately. ABSOLUTELY NEED!! Towel and Change of Clothes—Please bring a towel to dry off with and an extra pair of clothes to change into after Field day is over. ABSOLUTELY NEED!! Small bag—Can be useful to hold your child’s water bottle, towel, and any other necessary items he or she needs for Field day. Sunscreen—this will not be provided. Please put this on your child or send a labeled bottle.
