As some of you may know, Mrs. Cathy Weatherford, one of our first-grade teacher's husband was recently diagnosed with lymphoma. We have had several people reach out asking how they can help. The Weatherford family resides near Silex and we wanted to share this opportunity with you as a way to show your support.
If you know Mrs. Weatherford, my guess would be that words like kind-hearted, giving and caring come to your mind. Please join our JBE Family in showing her family your support through your thoughts and actions in their time of need. As always, support can look many ways including a kind smile, a nice note or another gesture of giving.

The Larry Richards Club Annual Thanksgiving Food Drive is November 15-18. Students may bring in non-perishable items to donate to the food drive. The class collecting the most item will win a class party.

If you missed sign ups for Youth Basketball, you can still show up to their designated time for practice and sign up. Thank you all for all your help and support with our youth basketball program again this year. Were over 100 kids in the program for the second year in a row!!

This year we are really focusing on Growth at JBE and we are going to try something new. On November 4th, we will be hosting our first Growth Parade of the year. Our teachers have been talking to students about the importance of stretching ourselves and growing. Each student will help choose what growth they want to celebrate and make a sign to carry in the parade.
Parents are invited to sit in the gym bleachers and watch the parade. The parade starts at 8:05 on November 4th.

It's Ice Cream Friday this week. If you haven't sent your dollar in for ice cream on Friday, you still have time.

We have partnered with USAgain to collect clothes and shoes. This company will pay us 2 cents for every pound collected and will plant a tree (somewhere, not on our property) for every full bin. The bins are located on the southwest corner of our building. We will start spreading the word to the community soon and hope it will help the earth and raise a bit of money for our donation account.

Attention 4th & 5th Grade Parents: There is a Larry Richards Club meeting after school on Friday, November 4th.
