Problem Solving Team

The Problem Solving Team addresses Tier 2 and Tier 3 PBS and RTI (Response to Intervention). Students can be referred to the Problem Solving Team in two ways.  1)Students can be referred by teachers and/or parents to the Problem Solving Team for either behavior (PBS) or academic (RTI) concerns.  A copy of the form used by teachers can be found in the document manager. or 2)The team looks at student data monthly to determine where support is needed. 

Some of the behavior interventions available to students from the committee include:  Check in/Check out, a Mentor program, and small groups. 

The committee has been very active this year in academic supports and interventions

Problem Solving Committee Meetings:  Meetings are held on the second Monday of the month from 8 a.m. to 9 a.m. at the Middle School.  A second meeting will be held on the fourth Thursday of the month at 7 a.m. at the Middle School.  If you have any questions or concerns please contact one of the members of the committee to be put on the agenda for the next meeting.

The Problem Solving Team uses Data Decision Rules to look for students needing additional support either in behavior or academics.  The Data Decision Rules include:

  • 2 or more F's in a grading period

  • 3 or more days absent in a semester

  • 3 or more Office Discipline Referrals (ODR) in a month

  • 3 or more Office Discipline Referrals in the same category in a month

  • 4 or more nurse visits in a month

This data is collected and reviewed by the team on the 13th of each month.
