A Little About Me
I was born and raised in Montgomery City and graduated from Montgomery County R-II High School. I attended the University of Missouri, originally majoring in High School Social Studies education. I quickly realized that my true calling was Middle School education. I changed my major and haven't looked back since. I graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Middle School Language Arts Education and a minor in Social Studies. I recently received my Masters in School Administration from Lindenwood University. My personal joys are spending time with my family, trout fishing, refinishing old furniture, and of course reading!
I truly enjoy all of my students and their willingness to learn. Middle School students have taught me that it is the little things in life and we learn together everyday. I love their gusto and adventurous spirit. My favorite part of teaching is being able to witness the "light bulb" moment when they have mastered a concept. It is my goal to give my students the ability to communicate effectively, be it verbally or through written expression. I also strive to instill a love and appreciation for reading in all of my students. I have high expectations for all of my students and will do whatever I can to help them become lifelong learners.
