In order to qualify for the A+ Schools Program, a student must:
have an A+ application on file in the A+ Coordinator's/Counselor's office
attend an A+ designated high school for the three consecutive years immediately prior to graduation
graduate with at least a 2.5 G.P.A. on 4.0 scale
graduate with a 95% attendance rate over four years
perform 50 hours of unpaid tutoring/mentoring
maintain a record of good citizenship and avoid the use and/or possession of illegal drugs and/or alcohol and/or related paraphernalia
Must receive a qualifying proficient score on one of the end of the year math EOC exams, OR a qualifying score on the ACT math portion of the college entrance exam. As of August 2016, the score required on the ACT math subtest is a 17 if having a cumulative GPA of 2.5, 16 if cumulative GPA is 2.8, or 15 if cumulative GPA is 3.0.
In order to receive A+ funds from the state, the following must also be completed:
make a good faith, documented effort to obtain federal financial aid that does not require repayment by submitting the FAFSA.
provide the student's social security number and full name (including middle)
have documentation of registration with Selective Service if required by law to do so
All requirements must be met, documented and a signed A+ Affidavit prior to graduation.
It is the responsibility of the student to continue to meet the requirements necessary to be certified as an A+ student after High School graduation.
