When it becomes necessary to dismiss school because of inclement weather, notice will be given to the radio and television stations in the R-II area.  When there is a possibility that school will not be held or that classes will be dismissed early due to inclement weather, tune to one of these stations for information.  They will broadcast the information as soon as they are notified.  Please do not call the stations, schools, or homes of school personnel to find out about school closings.

KMCR is the first attempted contact.

The district schools also dismiss early for professional development activities for teachers and staff.  These dates are included on the school calendar and reminder memos will be sent from school.

Please indicate on your emergency card the location to which your child should be sent in case of early dismissal.  Discuss these plans with your child so they will be aware and comfortable with the arrangements.
