Screening provides a yearly opportunity for you to see where your
child's progress fits in with standardized measures of child
development. Health, hearing, and vision screenings are also
provided. From birth to three our screenings are done in the home on a
personal visit. All three-, four-, and five-year-olds are encouraged to
come to one of our elementary schools in March to be screened.
To be eligible for our free Title I preschool your child must be four
years old by August 1. To go to kindergarten they must be five by
August 1. If you want your child considered for a preschool slot, you
must come to one of the three screening dates. All children going into
kindergarten must be screened also. The following are our 3, 4 and 5
year old screening dates for 2006:
Montgomery City Elementary --Thursday, March 22, 2007
Bellflower Elementary -- Tuesday, March 20, 2007
Jonesburg Elementary --Thursday, March 29, 2007
***You must call one of the elementary schools to make an appointment
for your child to be screened.
