The purpose of  ICAN in Montgomery County is to address obesity prevention by:

1) promoting and supporting the wellness policy and

2) increasing access to physical activity opportunities and healthy foods. 

 

The project leader is Holly Rodgers RN, horodgers@mc-wildcats.org,  Collaborating Committee is the School Health Advisory Council/Wellness Committee. 

Total ICAN grant awarded in Montgomery County $295,051.  No tax dollars are used to fund the ICAN Project. This project requires no match from the Montgomery County R-II School District.Montgomery County R-II students, staff, and community members are the target population.  December 1, 2006 – December 1, 2008 is the time line for the grant.
